After all the hullabaloo of the last 36 hours or so, Chelsea have today announced the signing of 28-year-old Spanish forward Pedro from FC Barcelona.
Pedro joins Asmir Begovic, Baba Rahman and Radamel Falcao (on loan from Monaco) as Chelsea’s prime purchases this summer.
Chelsea confirmed the capture of Pedro on their website, however the announcement noticeably failed to report the length of Pedro’s contract, nor the transfer fee paid for the striker.
On the fee, the Blues have paid €30m in an up-front payment, plus they are committed to extra €3m in add-ons.
Chelsea’s announcement also came without the
customary picture of a new signing holding a new shirt, suggesting that the Spaniard is perhaps not yet in London.
While Chelsea fans will be over the moon with their latest signing, Manchester United fans are less than happy.
