NCC Gives MTN 2 Weeks To Pay N1.04 Trillion Fine

The Nigerian Communications Commission has given telecoms giant MTN till the 16th of November to pay up its N1.04 trillion fine.

The fine had been slammed by the NCC on the South African company for failing to disconnect the sim of 5.1 million subscribers whose details were not registered.

The company’s executives are said to be in Nigeria to discuss the fine with the regulator.

The NCC had, in August, asked all telecoms operators to disconnect all unregistered lines, a deadline which MTN missed.

This prompted a $1000 fine for each unregistered sim card.
