Barca 6-1 PSG, the Greatest Comeback in European Competitions History

Barcelona created history to beat Paris Saint-Germain 6-5 on aggregate and reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Trailing 4-0 from the first leg, Barca had halved the deficit at half-time at the Nou Camp after Luis Suarez’s third-minute header and an own goal from Layvin Kurzawa.

Lionel Messi made it 4-3 on aggregate with a penalty shortly after the break, only for Edinson Cavani to seemingly secure PSG’s progress with a vital away goal on the hour mark.

That left Barca needing to score three more, which looked unlikely until an incredible climax.

Neymar fired in a brilliant free-kick in the 88th minute and then scored a penalty shortly afterwards, before substitute Sergi Roberto grabbed a dramatic winner with almost the last kick of the match.

GOAL! BARCELONA 1-0 PSG (Suarez 3)

What a start for Barcelona. It’s poor from PSG as they sit back so deep and then when a cross does come into the box they don’t deal with it. Trapp doesn’t come to claim and Suarez manages to head over the line from five yards out before it can be hacked cleared. One down…

17: CLOSE! Neymar steps in from the left side and hits a shot that looks to be arrowing towards the far corner. Not sure Trapp has it covered but it doesn’t matter as it goes just past the post. That was a decent strike.

GOAL! BARCELONA 2-0 PSG (Kurzawa OG 40)
The first goal wasn’t the best you’ll see Barca score, and nor is this. In fact it’s really scrappy as Iniesta turns and backheels in the box and Kurzawa tries to clear and ends up deflecting it into his own net. Barcelona halfway there.

GOAL! BARCELONA 3-0 PSG (Messi 50)

Brilliant composure from Messi. After a lengthy delay as PSG protest, Messi steps up and fires the penalty into the back of the net even though Trapp guesses the right way. Just one more needed now.

GOAL! BARCELONA 3-1 PSG (Cavani 62)

Big, big goal for PSG. The free-kick is chipped into the box and Kurzawa climbs above his marker and heads down for Cavani, who fires into the net from 12 yards out. Wild celebrations on the PSG bench as Barcelona now need to score three more.

GOAL! BARCELONA 4-1 PSG (Neymar 88)

It probably won’t count for much, but this is superb from Neymar as he curls a right-footed free-kick from the left side of the box into the top corner at the near post. Trapp completely beaten.

GOAL! BARCELONA 5-1 PSG (Neymar 90)

Cool as you like from Neymar as he steps up and scores the penalty to make it 5-5 on aggregate. Do Barcelona have one more in them…?

GOAL! BARCELONA 6-1 PSG (Roberto 90+5)

OH MY WORD! Absolutely incredible. Luis Enrique is storming down the touchline, the Barcelona players are all bundled on top of each other. Amazing.

It’s a ball clipped over the top and Roberto is behind the defence and gets the touch to volley it past Trapp.
